Frequently asked questions
The quick answers. For deeper troubleshooting visit the Help Center, or contact us if you still need a hand.
What audio sources does CueSync support?
CueSync supports Pioneer PRO DJ LINK (CDJ-3000, CDJ-2000NXS2, DJM-V10, DJM-A9), any CoreAudio audio interface on macOS, MIDI Clock, and Ableton Link.
What's the latency of beat detection?
Our beat-event processing runs at under 5 ms on the cue-evaluation path — from PRO DJ LINK ingest through trigger evaluation to protocol output. End-to-end latency to your fixtures depends on your console and network; the CueSync portion is imperceptible to the human eye.
Can I use CueSync with my existing lighting console?
Yes. CueSync ships 13 output protocols including GrandMA2 (Telnet + OSC), GrandMA3 (TCP + UDP OSC), Avolites Titan, ETC Eos, ChamSys MagicQ, Resolume, MIDI Show Control, and more. It acts as a bridge alongside your existing workflow.
Is CueSync free to download?
Yes. Create a free account and download CueSync for macOS — no credit card required. The app runs in read-only mode so you can explore the full interface. To unlock all features, choose from three editions starting at $15/month. License tokens include a 7-day offline grace period so you can work without internet.
What hardware and software is supported?
CueSync v1.0 runs on macOS 12+ today (a Windows build is in progress). It ships 13 output protocols: GrandMA2 (Telnet + OSC), GrandMA3 (TCP + UDP OSC), Avolites Titan, ETC Eos, ChamSys MagicQ, Resolume, disguise (d3), TouchDesigner, Unreal Engine 5, QLab (TCP + UDP), MIDI Show Control, Pangolin Beyond, and Custom OSC. Input: Pioneer PRO DJ LINK, Ableton Link, MIDI Clock, and audio interfaces. Theatre/Production editions add timecode generation and chase in 4 formats (LTC, MTC, Art-Net TC, TCNet).
What’s the difference between DJ, Theatre, and Production?
DJ ($15/mo) is built for music-reactive workflows — AutoPilot engine, beat/phrase/energy triggers, ProDeck view, CuePad grid, and up to 3 venue profiles. Theatre ($24/mo) is built for cue-driven production — CueStack, timeline automation, frame-accurate timecode (LTC/MTC/ArtNet/TCNet), Show Editor, Mission Control HUD, up to 25 venue profiles. Production ($35/mo) combines both engines with coordination bus, predictive preview, and unlimited venue profiles. All editions include every protocol.
Can I change editions later?
Yes. Upgrades are prorated and take effect immediately. Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. You can manage your subscription from the account dashboard or the Paddle billing portal.
